Optimizing Your Setup with CABINET VISION: Understanding System Requirements and Recommendations

Operating System Requirements

CABINET VISION is designed to work seamlessly on professional levels of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 64bit. While it is possible to install and run the software on the 'Home' edition of these operating systems, it is not recommended due to potential compatibility issues. For optimal performance and support, it is advisable to use Windows 10 or Windows 11 Pro versions.

Network Installation Recommendations

For network installations, CABINET VISION is compatible with all Windows Server editions currently supported by Microsoft, including Microsoft Terminal Services. To ensure the best network performance, it is advised to utilize gigabit Ethernet switches with Category 5e/6 cables. Additionally, a dedicated network server with recommended system requirements can further enhance the efficiency of CABINET VISION.

Processor and System Memory Specifications

The software demands an Intel Core i5 processor as a minimum requirement, with the recommended option being an Intel Core i7. For AMD users, a minimum of AMD Ryzen 5 is necessary, with AMD Ryzen 7 being the preferable choice. In terms of clock speed, a processor of at least 2.5 GHz is required, with 3.0 GHz or higher being recommended. System memory should start at 8GB but ideally be 16GB or higher for smoother operation.

Video Card and Monitor Specifications

To support the graphical demands of CABINET VISION, an OpenGL compatible video card is essential. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or a superior graphics card with a minimum of 4 GB of native video RAM is recommended. Alternatively, Intel HD 630 or better can also suffice. For the monitor, a minimum resolution of 1360x768 is required to ensure proper display.

Hard Disk Space Considerations

When it comes to hard disk space, CABINET VISION necessitates 15GB of free storage for installation. This includes approximately 4GB for the initial download file and an additional 9GB for the installation process. It is essential to note that SQL Server, a component of the installation, only supports disk drives with standard native sector sizes of 512 bytes or 4 KB.

Additional Requirements and Recommendations

In addition to the core system requirements, users are advised to use a two-button mouse with a wheel that is Windows compatible for optimal navigation within the software. It is crucial to adhere to these system specifications for a seamless experience with CABINET VISION and to avoid any potential compatibility issues or performance hitches.
