Integrity and Compliance with the eVinci™ Micro Reactor by Westinghouse

Ethics and Integrity at Westinghouse

At Westinghouse, ethics and integrity are not just buzzwords; they are the foundation of everything we do. These values are crucial to our individual and collective success, as well as to Westinghouse's position as a global nuclear energy leader. Our vision is clear - to be the industry's top choice for delivering clean, safe, and sustainable energy solutions now and in the future. Central to achieving this vision are ethics, integrity, and diversity. Our company's core is built on integrity, reflecting the rich history and commitment of our employees. Every Westinghouse team member is expected to embody integrity, follow the Global Ethics Code, adhere to company policies and procedures, and abide by all relevant laws and regulations.

Global Ethics Code and Compliance Program

The Global Ethics Code serves as the cornerstone of Westinghouse's Ethics and Compliance Program. This code is a practical guide for daily decision-making, underpinned by our corporate values and a simple principle: always conduct business with Integrity at Our Core. The Code is applicable to all employees, officers, and the Board of Directors, as well as to our contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other business partners. The Westinghouse Global Ethics Code Microsite is a valuable resource that simplifies understanding and adherence to key principles of the Code.

Supplier Code of Conduct and Nuclear Power Plant Exporters' Principles of Conduct

Westinghouse recognizes the global nature of its operations and the varied legal frameworks within which its suppliers operate. Despite these differences, fundamental principles are universal. The Supplier Code of Conduct outlines these core principles and clarifies expectations for all suppliers, including contractors, subcontractors, and product/service providers linked to Westinghouse worldwide. Additionally, Westinghouse, alongside leading nuclear power plant vendors, has established the Nuclear Power Plant Exporters' Principles of Conduct. These principles underscore the industry's shared commitment to safety, security, environmental protection, and ethical conduct in the export of nuclear power plants.

Ethics and Concerns Helpline and Anti-Corruption Initiatives

To uphold a culture of transparency and accountability, Westinghouse provides a Global Ethics and Concerns Helpline for employees and business partners to seek guidance or report compliance violations. The Helpline addresses a range of issues, including anti-trust matters, bribery, fraud, and unethical behavior. To combat corruption, Westinghouse maintains a stringent Anti-Corruption Program, enforcing a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery and corruption. This program ensures compliance with anti-corruption laws globally, such as the US FCPA and the UK Bribery Act, and prohibits facilitating payments to government officials.

Conflicts of Interest and Trade Compliance

The Conflict of Interest policy at Westinghouse safeguards against conflicts that may arise from competing responsibilities or interests. It sets clear guidelines for employees to navigate personal and professional obligations effectively. Moreover, Westinghouse emphasizes trade compliance, requiring employees to adhere to all applicable trade laws and regulations to ensure ethical business practices.
