Agreeing to Terms
Knewton Alta, provided by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., offers adaptively powered learning experiences through online educational content, tools, and other features. Users, aged 13 and over, accessing the Knewton Site are required to agree to the terms of service. It is essential to have the legal capacity to form a binding contract and be bound by these terms. For users under 13, the involvement of a parent, guardian, or teacher in agreeing to the terms on their behalf is necessary. These terms, along with the Knewton Online Courseware Privacy Policy, establish a binding legal agreement with users. In case of disagreement with any part of the terms or policy, access to the Knewton Site or the Online Courseware should be avoided.
Access & Registration Process
Access to Knewton Online Courseware can be obtained through several means. It may be integrated with the institution's learning management system, provided through a URL given by an institution, professor, or administrator, or accessed directly via the Knewton Site. Regardless of the access method, users are required to create a Wiley Account to utilize the Courseware. Maintaining the confidentiality of account details, such as the user name and password, is crucial. Wiley grants users the right to access and use specified portions of the Courseware during the Subscription Period for personal, educational, and related administrative purposes. Deleting a Wiley Account is possible, subject to certain considerations, and users may be required to re-register to access the Courseware again.
Course Packs and Subscriptions
Knewton Online Courseware includes courses or groups of content known as Course Packs. Access to a Course Pack requires the purchase or activation of an Access Code, either through an institution, bookstore, vendors, or directly from Wiley. Each Access Code corresponds to a Subscription granted by Wiley for a specific Subscription Period. Users may receive a 14-day Courtesy Access period at Wiley's discretion. Subscriptions can be terminated as per the terms stipulated by Wiley.
