Efficient Flight Control System
The Integrated Flight Controller (IFC) by Kratos OpenSpace is a cutting-edge control system designed to manage the complete flight functionality and maneuverability of the BQM-167 subsonic aerial target platform. This innovative solution plays a vital role in ensuring precise control of unmanned vehicles during missions.
Advanced Functionality
The IFC integrates seamlessly with ground control systems like GRDCS, SNTC, or TTCS, receiving commands and real-time vehicle data from onboard sensors. By processing this information, the IFC generates control signals that govern the aircraft's flight dynamics. This sophisticated system supports a wide range of high-performance maneuvers, including barrel rolls, high G turns, and low altitude operations, enhancing the platform's operational capabilities.
Robust Message Processing
The IFC's Message Processor, powered by a high-performance PowerPC processor, handles critical functions such as datalink encoding/decoding and autopilot operations. This single unit ensures smooth communication between the IFC and ground control, even in scenarios of datalink loss. By providing autonomous control capabilities, the IFC guarantees the safety and stability of the aircraft, enabling it to perform prescribed maneuvers and execute escape protocols as needed.
Intelligent Communication
Through EIA RS-485 serial interfaces, the IFC interacts with a Command Data Link Transponder, receiving commands from the ground station and transmitting control signals to the UAV. Additionally, the IFC relays essential telemetry data back to the ground control center, providing operators with real-time information on the vehicle's performance and status.
Seamless Integration
The IFC's Message Processor maintains a constant dialogue with the attitude sensor package (ASP) at a rapid 100 Hz rate, capturing crucial flight parameters like heading, pitch angle, roll angle, and rates of rotation. Moreover, the IFC connects to Ground Support Equipment (GSE) via EIA RS-422 serial umbilical interface, enabling the transfer of initialization parameters and flight data. This versatile interface also facilitates connection to the Multi-Platform Vehicle Test Set (MPVTS) for comprehensive testing and calibration.
