Enhancing IT Transformation for Defense Agencies
Leidos, a key player in innovation and addressing national security challenges, has secured three new awards from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to propel the next phase of IT transformation. These accolades aim to facilitate the migration of an expanded user base to the modernized Department of Defense Network (DoDNet) under the Defense Enclave Services (DES) program. Through an $11.5 billion, 10-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, Leidos will optimize network services for Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities (DAFAs) as they transition from legacy systems to the consolidated DoDNet.
Integration of New Technologies and Services
Under these awards, Leidos is set to integrate cutting-edge technologies and services into DoDNet, focusing on enabling DAFA migrations and enhancing user experience. By incorporating data-driven, cloud-based management services, automation tools, Zero Trust cybersecurity enhancements, and an optimized user experience, Leidos aims to provide the DoDNet user community with reliable, secure, and scalable network operations to empower their unique missions.
Expansion of User Base and Migration Process
The awarded task orders support DoDNet Generation 2 Release 2, paving the way for large-scale DAFA migrations. Additionally, the migration process to DoDNet has commenced for two DAFAs - the Defense Contract Management Agency and the Defense Contract Audit Agency. Leidos is collaborating with DISA to onboard 14 DAFAs onto DoDNet and expects to have around 100,000 users migrated by the end of 2025, with the network projected to support approximately 370,000 DAFA users and endpoints post-implementation.
Long-Term Operations and Sustainment
These awards, with a total contract value exceeding $30 million, build upon Leidos" operations for the DES DoDNet program. The company’s recent win of an $823 million, five-year task order from DISA for the long-term operations and sustainment construct for DoDNet further solidifies its commitment to advancing IT transformation and enabling secure, efficient, and modern computing environments for defense agencies.
