Updating to V5.1 Technical Requirements
The Solid State Lighting (SSL) products must be updated to meet the V5.1 Technical Requirements by June 30, 2022, to remain listed on the Qualified Products List (QPL). Manufacturers can submit update applications from July 1, 2020, onwards. There is no automatic updating; each product needs to be included in the update application individually.
Updating Dimming Information
For products capable of dimming, manufacturers need to submit a Dimming Update Application to indicate their dimming capabilities. The dimming type can be continuous or stepped, and if capable of continuous dimming, the product's ability to dim to 10% or below its full input power must be specified.
Private Label Product Updates to V5.1
Private label products also need to comply with the V5.1 Technical Requirements. Before submitting a V5.1 private label update application, OEM product updates must be completed. Private labelers are advised to coordinate with OEM suppliers to prevent delays in the update process.
Testing Products for V5.1 Compliance
Manufacturers must conduct specific testing and reporting for V5.1 compliance. Testing includes parameters like minimum light output, efficacy, CCT range, color rendering, maintenance, driver performance, lumen distribution, and more. Each family of products must undergo the necessary testing to validate compliance with V5.1 requirements.
