Qualify a LUNA Product for Solid-State Lighting with DLC

Introduction to LUNA Qualification Process

The DLC qualifies LUNA products through the same application process as SSL products, for inclusion under the LUNA designation on the Solid-State Lighting QPL. Products must meet the DLC's LUNA Technical Requirements and be intended for specific product categories to qualify for LUNA designation. Manufacturers need to provide full and complete model numbers for all application submissions to be eligible for qualification.

Product Eligibility and Technical Requirements

Before submitting an application, it is crucial to review Product Eligibility, Solid-State Lighting, and LUNA Technical Requirements, and any additional testing or reporting requirements for the specific product categories. This thorough review ensures that the product meets all necessary criteria for LUNA qualification.

Application Submission Process

Applicants submitting LUNA products are required to use the LUNA Pre-submission Tool on the MyDLC dashboard. This tool allows for the generation of luminous intensity and spectral power distribution (SPD) images in .png format, which are essential for the application process. These images validate and preview the required information for LUNA qualification.

Evaluation and Re-submission

Applications are evaluated against the SSL and LUNA Technical Requirements versions in effect at the time of submission. Re-submissions are evaluated against the original version or the version in effect during the re-submission. It is essential to adhere to the Technical Requirements and any updates to ensure continued qualification under LUNA.
